Festival format and playing schedule
The Spirit of Nottingham International u15 Rugby Festival will be played in the true spirit of the game. We have personally invited teams to attend this festival, and depending upon circumstances there will be 8, 10 or 12 teams competing for the trophies. We aim to format the competition (some initial details outlined below, which are to be confirmed), so that every single team will have the chance to play in a semi-final and final play-off. Therefore, everybody will have chance to compete for a trophy and take home some silverware.
The festival organisers will also be awarding prizes for sportsmanship, fair play and to teams that enter into the true spirit of rugby.
Saturday: Will consist of 3 pool matches, 15 mins each way.
Sunday: Semi finals and finals day - all teams will compete in Sundays games playing semi-final and final / play off matches. (Championship, Cup, Shield and Bowl finals).
Eight Teams Competing.
There will be two leagues, with four teams in each league. Each team will play three league games on Saturday.
Sunday will see semi finals played; the top two teams in each league playing each other for places in the “Championship” final and play off game (effectively a 3rd/4th place match). The lower two teams in each league will play each other in semifinals for places in the "Shield" final (effectively a 5th/6th place play-off) and the “Bowl” final (effectively at 7th/8th place play-off). Each team therefore will play three league games on Saturday. A semi-final and final/play-off on the Sunday.
